Methods. Of the 868 patients enrolled in APRICOT, 832 were included in the analysis. Thirty‐
six patients were excluded because of lack of interpretable histology. Liver histology was
determined via Ishak score 40 as assessed by local pathologists (from 95 centers in 19
countries). Total histological activity index and fibrosis scores (0–6) were recorded. For
